thanks for that! I just drove all over to the auto parts stores and no one has this ex. Toyota but I did find one on eBay a bit cheaper for $9.50: Prius C 2012 2013 2014 Premium Grade Engine Air Filter 17801 21060 | eBay
It may work just fine, but I don't think that it is genuine Toyota. It would be nice to be able to compare the filtering in microns of each filter.
oh yea definitely not genuine Toyota, its some cheap aftermarket. May just go with other one on Amazon though I cross referenced some and Fram CA11426 and Wix WA10000 come up to fit as well. Will try the Fram one tomorrow at Auto Zone or O'Reilly.
Here you go. I just ordered one for less than $10; listed as new, but package is damaged. In another words the box is torn or open. Can't beat the price, especially for a genuine part.
This is the engine air filter? With (US) replacement interval of 30,000 miles (or 36 months), I'd be inclined to just go with the Toyota part. The Canadian distance interval is roughly the same: 48,000 kilometers (or 36 months). Mines at almost 52,000 km's, still looks very clean, I'm leaving it for now.
Has anyone used the K&N air filter? Way back in the day, I ran them in my Jeep and saw about a 5 mpg increase in FE. Just got my first Prius last week and am wondering if similar results could be expected?
