After testing over 50 different shift knobs made my my dad's friend, including one he makes and sell made of highly polished 7075 aluminum, I settled on my favorite that he machined of exceptionally rare "Tapestry" Dymond wood, Dymond is no longer available, because the plant tat makes it from Baltic birch plies impregnated with phenoic resins under extreme pressure burned down in 2014. The ergonomic feel and quick accessibility is phenomenal. The material polishes to a high shine with no finish. I have attached this photo.
