air conditioner making weird noises in dashboard

    At least that is what it sounds like. There have been some strange crackling noises emanating from the dashboard lately in our 2007 Prius with 124,000 miles on it.

    When shutting down there can be a little extra noise I assume is from AC. But today there were all kinds of noises to the right emanating seemingly from the dashboard.

    Anybody else experience this?

    remove the cabin filter and turn the fan on to see if it is making any noise.
    you might be hearing vent doors moving, or trying to.
