Air Conditioning Compressor

    I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything in my search. I also know folks will say it's in the manual but it doesn't answer my question exactly.
    Concerning climate control: If I press any selection that includes the defroster, does the compressor run even if the "AC" light is not illuminated? image.jpg image.jpg

    I know with THIRD gen, AC button off (no light on button) if mode is set to heat/defog, AC MAY come on. Seems less or nil with ambient temps near freezing. This is from monitoring AC watts via ScanGauge.

    Gen 2 may be sim.

    In your first pic, I believe yes it will run the A/C, but in the second one no. The second only says you have selected air to be directed to the vents below the windshield and also to your feet.

    [EDIT] I would go along with what Mendel has said in regard to temps.
