I got a notice in the mail today for current and former owners and lessees of certain Toyota, Lexus, Scion or Pontiac Vibe vehicles with a Takata airbag may be entitled to a payment from a class action settlement. here's a link to see if your car has that airbag. Takata Settlement - Check VIN
Thanks! My 2014 4Runner TEP is on the list. It was deemed not imperative to be recalled yet since it was not very old yet. I've never like that logic. Our 2014 Camry Hybrid and 2010 Prius are in the clear. Edit: Per the web site I am not eligible to submit a claim until my vehicle has been recalled and I take it in for remedy Until then, I have not "suffered" a loss. When and if it's recalled, I can submit a claim then.
good to know, I can't find ( or too lazy to get off my duff to look for it ) my VIN for my 2010 Prius (thanks don't need to now) But also had 2012 PIP and 2007 Prius. Have the Toyota Let's go Places sticker ( fuel economy.gov) for my 2015 PIP and 2017 Prime on my computer desk cupboard doors.
That's one of the few good things the Toyota Owners web site is for. I can quickly find the VIN's on our 3 Yotas.
The site specifically states BMW, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, and Toyota Settlements. Is there settlements specific for HONDA? Our Civic had recall and had the airbag replaced, but I can't remember receiving anything in regard to settlements. Sorry, it's not Prius related. My Gen3 Prius was not part of this recall.
According to this article, Ford, GM, Honda, and Nissan are also affected but not on this settlement. Have an exploding airbag? You might get $500 - May. 18, 2017 Nissan must have came on later.
