Any suggestions for an airbag kit for the Gen 4 Prius (2016)? Starting to use the car for a long distance car pool. One of the gals is pretty "tons of fun" in size (maybe 350?). She sits in the back. Lots of flashing on the way home from oncoming drivers. I'd like to raise the back a bit ...
This mentions 2016 and 2017, but I have no experience with it. Toyota Prius 2010-2017 Air Bag Helper Springs by Firestone #4136 - 2011 | SuspensionConnection.com
Might be an obvious solution that you've already tried.....but couldn't she just sit in the front? Also I'm pretty sure that all of the Gen 4 PRIUS models, given that they are equipped with LED lamps, have auto headlight levelling. I'm surprised that the levelling still didn't account for the extra, uh, load in the back seat....
I seem to recall that all cars equipped with very bright light sources like HID and LED lamps must have auto-levelling to avoid different passenger loads causing excessive glare (but I could be wrong -- I can't quote the exact regulations at the moment). Some countries also mandate headlamp washers for these lamps. Perhaps the US rules are different to other countries?
That may be true in Australia, but not in the backward United States. Now IIHS is starting to test headlights perhaps we will finally get lower glare ones. We know they somehow reduced the glare for the 2017 Prius from 2017. 2016 2017
US is way behind in this mandatory requirements....what people on other side of is cool feature to have.... Some luxury do have this option here in USA.... And that is here luxury not requirement
I remember as a kid in the 50s the US had luxury cars with all the trimmings like AC power steering electric this, electric that and so, whilst we in the UK were still riding round on horse and carts and a heater was considered a luxury in a car.
Air Force Suspension makes a kit and you can just buy the rear bags and then get a small 1-2 gal tank, compressor and management. I'm very knowledgeable in this area. Let me know if you need further help!
Yes, not all British cars even had option for a better when I was a lad, admittedly, that was quite a few weeks ago now.
