I have a 2014 Prius c and it doesnt happen everytime but every 1 day or 2 days. I'll stop for gas shut of my car fill up start car and on the left hand side the red thing blinks rapidly. Wont let me start car. After a minute or so it will start again and while driving it will make a beeping noise. Anyway to disable this?
There are lots of red flashing things on the dashboard... It's so hard to choose just one, especially on a bad day...
If I'm sitting driver seat the flashing circle is on my lower left hand side. Right belIow the left hand side ac on the driver side door. can push the flashing circle too. It looks like a security button maybe?
My car alarm will only be triggered if there's a loud noise or when I try to open the car using the key instead of its remote. Can you try to send a short clip?
Ok I found out. It says security on it. Sometimes when I startt car it wont start. And that red security thing flashes. If I press it, my car finally starts. And puts everything to reset factory settings. Is it a transponder issue?
Maybe. But more likely it is a 12 V battery issue. Then......do you have another key FOB ? If not, you REALLY need to get one. If the only one you have is damaged or lost, it is VERY expensive to get it running again........like $600 maybe.
Ok guys. The light I'm talking about is the immobilizer light for security. Yesterday I tried starting my car at Kroger parking light after getting some groceries. I put in key and the imbolizer light thing is flashing rapidly. It will not let me start car no matter how much I try. And a buzzing sound from engine whenever I turned the key. I had no choice but to leave car at Kroger Next day went back to Kroger and car starts. I go to Toyota dealership. Explained my problem and they replaced my key battery. They said if the key transponder chip is low battery the car will not start. So with the new key chip in I've been driving and no problems yet. Starting everytime now. Can a low battery key do all that?
Never heard of anything like it, but maybe. Usually, you get a low key battery message on the screen. Has the red security thing stopped flashing?
My key fob went out and I didn't get a low battery warning until after I swapped the battery. Mine did not immobilize me, however. Probably because I have the keyless and held it up to the start button.
