Here's one for you electronics gurus. How about developing a little black box to create an auto all up/down button, similar to the Solara convertible? The Solara's isn't an auto button, and does the windows in pairs. I'd love to have a button on the dash to press and have all the windows go up or down.
We already have this. It's window per window, but it's still better than having to leave the button pressed for a fair amount of time. I love it the way it is. Just takes a bit of effort to press the buttons 4 times, but it's a calorie I'm willing to sacrifice =)
yeah, I agree, but I like automation, it's cool. VW remotes have a window up function, and I like that, too.
Some Toyota vehicles have remote all up/down windows as well. LandCruiser 200 series is an example (only top of the range though). They should've included this feature on the 30 series Prius.
at least we can turn off our lights with 2 clicks of the fob lock button, and they go off themselves in like 30 seconds. It would have been more cool to push the windows up with 2 clicks of lock, and all down with 2 clicks of unlock.
Just install a fifth switch ahead of the others and tie it in to all, would be easy to do. Not worth it to me though
Not sure what is wrong with using 2 fingers and pressing the buttons, both front then both back to lower all four windows then lift 2 front and 2 back to raise. Seems pretty easy to me. I'm also not sure why electric windows need to be disabled when the ignition is off (after a delay or door opens) It can't be a security thing because once inside the car you can open any of the doors. I don't think electric windows use power when not in use.
I don't see an issue using four fingers and pressing them all at the same time. I can see it being a "problem" pulling it up but just go two by two. At least it's auto up/down for all four windows. Toyota could've just left it as driver-only.
Yeah man... consider yourself lucky! I would love to have auto up/down added to even just the front passenger window... (I don't use the back windows often.)
