I have a new Prius, and I'm thinking of ordering some sort of all weather mat for the cargo area. I know there are clear plastic ones like Exactmats and rubber ones with a lip like Weathertec/

My first question, though, is whether I'd still be able to attach my cargo net to the D-rings at the door to the hatchback.

My second question is whether I should get the clear ones or rubber ones with a lip. I've heard that for the car floor mats, it's better to get rubber ones with a lips so I won't get a 'ring' around the clear mats where mud/slush/etc. drains off the edge. But is that a concern with the cargo-area mat, since it covers the entire cargo area?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jeannie

The ExactMats I use do not interfere with the "tie-down" rings in the cargo area of my Prius. ExactMats are clear plastic with gobs of "teeth" on the backside to prevent them sliding around. ExactMats do not have a "lip" around the perimeter so if you anticipate very wet cargo you might prefer the rubber mats with a lip. We have ExactMats for ALL floors and cargo area and like the translucent nature so the interior colors are more harmonious.

Kinda boils down to your personal preference.
