Alumnum Rims 2008 w/plastic ring hubcap.

    I have very nice 6 spoke Alumnum Rims on my 2008 Prius. Toyota put a plastic hubcap ring on top. My question is WHY? I took them off, look much better.

    do not know. Mine have been in my storage locker since I bought the car. Not sure why I don't just throw them out. Some people say they protect the rims a bit, others that there's an aerodynamic advantage. Some even like the look of them. None of these reasons were enough for me to leave them on.

    They trap dirt on the rim in winter and it holds salt. Leave them OFF!!

    they supposedly give 1mpg....I'll keep the 1mpg and save myself the embarrassment of looking like I got hubcaps...

    what I still don't get is why some priuses have the two front or two back ones misssing and the other two on??? TAKE ALL FOUR OFF!!!!
