Hello fellow Priusites?, My audio is completely gone, so I changed the main radio unit (now has car play and reverse camera!) but still no audio. I now suspect the amp (JBL 86280-0W622) and have been searching for used replacements (new units are $700+). My question is: Will amps from any Gen 3 Prius (years 2010-2015) work? I am hoping to get a used unit with less mileage.
Your 2010 Prius and all 2011 Prius with JBL sound systems use a different Amp then later years. 2010-11 used Harman Becker 8628-0w622-P5 while 2011-14 used Greenedge 86280-0wa51-P7 amps. Just get the same make and model # and you will be fine. In model year 2011 Toyota switched over to the GreenEdge amps. Don't use a different year or model amp because the wiring harness plugs will not line up.
