Replaced default radio with android unit 2010 by radio tech It will turn on and stay on till car is powered off If I push power off on Android tablet unit it's not powering off when car is on ready mode , If its expected to turn off or wiring is always on due to 12v and not standard radio? Got check hybrid battery but went away after 12v battery is turned off and put back on
It is normal to supply a car radio with both ignition-switched (ready-switched in the case of a Prius) as well as constant 12v power. It's up to the manufacturer of the radio to decide how to make use of those two power sources. Sounds like they just didn't bother implementing support for that on/off button. Watch out for that (unrelated) hybrid battery code. Resetting them by disconnecting the 12v causes the computer to forget why they happened, but it doesn't make the problem go away. Chances are the computer will notice the problem again and light it up again. Time to come up with a plan for hybrid battery replacement.
When you turn on the car your android HU has to boot. The delay can be annoying. Sometimes the button thought to be power might function as a mute, maybe and turn off the display. It might even put the unit in sleep mode. There might be.a setting to program the function of that button. Disconnecting the 12 v battery can give you the error message. Everything is good if the medsage doesn't come back
Thx ,yes check hybrid was not there before android install and not coming back again after few power off on and driving as well. I did found a sleep option in android unit can use that if need to power display off ,this was universal unit that pops out , thought 9 inch should fit in but guess into 2010 not as per installer. However there is no USB data input in cup holder, only cigarette lighter unit and aux audio input,I will check with install tech if he can install USB data ,so that android can play mp3 from USB drive
