So we had some thunderstorms move through the area yesterday afternoon and when I got home, only half of the lights were working and stove and range did not work. Knowing we have two, 100A fuses feeding the power distribution box, I figured to fix it in the morning.

Now pulling the mains means losing all power to the house. So I backed up the NHW11; turned on the inverter, and; ran the extension cords to the closet with the power box. I turned on a light powered by the Prius and pulled the mains. A couple of minutes later, the bad fuse was replaced and power restored.

Sure, I could have done everything with a flashlight but I had this Prius with 110VAC power . . .
