As you can probably guess from my handle, I breed clownfish for a hobby. I went to pick up some used fish tanks from a store about 20 miles from home. The guy who helped me load said, "I hope you brought a truck with you." When I told him I brought my Prius, he said, " Well, that's the smallest car ever built!" and he gave me a doubtful look. See below. look in the windows! From the back; Here they are unloaded: Another reason I love my Prius!
Nice photos. Those are some serious fish tanks. I had a similar experience in the parking lot of a big box hardware store. I wheeled out a bulky item on a cart and headed for my Prius. A nice looking couple were trying to load the same item into an SUV in a nearby spot. When I pushed my cart up to my Prius, they looked at me like I had lost my mind. I opened the hatch, flipped down the seats, and the box slid right in. As I pulled away they were unpacking their box to load the contents into their SUV - the box wouldn't fit. I enjoyed it greatly. Yep. Been there done that. Right down to the doubting guy. . . http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-main-forum/53760-70-no-more.html
Its crazy all the stuff the car can handle. That is an interesting hobby. Do you sell any of the fish or just keep them as your own?
That is one of the things that pleasantly surprised me with the Prius, the amount of space you have when you put the back seats down
