I was wondering if anyone who has put Toyo T1R's on the Prius could tell me how they handled in the winter time? What I can find out is that it is a high performance tire and the few comments on here don't really say how they handle in the winter.

I have a 2007 touring and most of the tire comments are about the Prius base. I want to stay with the 195/55R16 size and I can get that size in both the Toyo and the Nokian.

I know that the Nokian WR is a very good all weather tire and is praised for it's handling in snow and ice. We don't get alot of snow and ice here. The Toyo is 2 1/2 lbs lighter than the Nokian.

Either tire will have to be shipped in to me and I will have to have them mounted and balanced locally. The Toyo is almost $200 cheaper than the Nokian's ( a set of 4). I am not sure how the Taranza's that are stock will fair on any snow or ice but so far I am not too happy with the ride they give.

Any helpful input would be appreciated. :p
