These batteries were only announced 2 days ago. Only a few prototype testers have them installed. Not enough is known about these new batteries to get an informed opinion yet. If you want to be a beta tester for this type of battery, consider ordering one. In my opinion, I would pay a little more for the proven Toyota HV battery that will last at least 10 years.
Your point is well taken. My orig battery has lasted 9 years, 200K miles and still test high on the Dr Prius app. I have a close friend with 2 Prius cars and had to replace the batteries at 125K and 140K miles. Both of those cars were in S. FL and I have always through the hot weather shortened the life. My car as been primarily in TN and now MT for the past 5 years. I just have never had very good anything from either of my local dealers.
