I went on fuelly.com to start tracking MPG on my new 2014 'v' (lowercase = wagon) and they aren't set up for the 'v', only the 'V'. Is anyone with a 'v' on fuelly and what do you have your 'v' registered as?
The V on fuely is most likely the v wagon. It wouldn't make much sense to track the fuel economy of the five.
Mine simply says Prius V. At some point, I would hope that Toyota could get some sanity into their model/trim names. They could start by using familiar model names. ie: Prius V SE, LE, XLE, GLE whatever. The Three and Five are pretty lame IMO.
I registered hoping to have my 2015 by now. 3 weeks later I am told it could take another 2 months to get one
I am, see below. There are probably some on fuelly registered as Prius V who have different cars from the wagons and their 60+ MPG distorts the averages.
I scrolled through the 2012 prius v's on fuelly and checked out the highest and the lowest mpg and found input errors to be the cause of 64MPG (83 Fuel-ups, Property of dctomtom ) and 4.8MPG (136 Fuel-ups, Property of hsnyder ) One fill-up of 1500 miles on 8.9 gal and one fill-up of 8,748,000 gal respectively. So there are probably more reasons for extreme fuelly entries than we can ever imagine, but a lot of them can be chalked up to user error.
