Looks like an interesting choice, although not in the same MPG class as a Prius of course. Appears they will be available in the US in "early 2010" and there are 100 in the US now, available for test drives. If you want to "buy American" whatever that means nowadays, it'll be another option.
Very interesting: 2011 Ford Fiesta Five-door caught in the buff 2011 Ford Fiesta Preview - Ford Reports On a quickie search, haven't found MPG figures or price yet... Still, worth keeping an eye on, FYI. Fusion and Fiesta: Ford, the Detroit "Fenix?" (sic: phoenix)
What I've heard, the ones in the country now for test drives are European models. The North American made edition will be the first to use a six speed double clutch transmission. So any discussion on what fuel economy the new US Fiesta will get is just a WAG.
Forget the Fiesta.. This is the Ford I want to get in 2011: 2011 Ford Focus To Be Built in Michigan--Including Electric Version - GreenCarReports.com An EV version of the Focus.
I member on another forum I frequent actually has one of the Fiesta's right now and is driving and reviewing it. From what he says, it gets really good mileage and is also really fun to drive. I'll try adn get a detailed report.
The 2010 looked really good in the case I ever had the need to run away from bad guys through a shopping mall, or I wanted to do participate in an amphibious beach assault...
No. It is an interesting car and the Fiesta seems like a really good vehicle (kinda like the Focus when it first arrived). European styling, good handling and of course good mpg. However, isn't it coming only as a sedan? Will the hatchback arrive? Also, I'm not buying it because it's made in Mexico. The European ones are made in Europe (probably poland or somewhere out east if I had to guess).
