Hey there, I just bought my 2017 Prius here in Dubai, UAE. I am replacing my standard rims with Enki 18x7.5J Alloys and suspension with Tein Street Basis Z Coilovers. Question is : (1) Should I put 215-40-R18 or 225-40-R18. Will 225 fit or are they too wide? (2) How much should I drop front and back? 30 mm? I dont have any body kit on it at a moment.
Welcome to PC. Tires: When using a 18x7.5" wheel, a 215/40-18 is the better choice, plus that size tire weighs less which is a good thing. Coilovers: Roughly ~30mm's sounds reasonable, just remember two basic rules when lowering. 1) The lower you go, the more negative camber you automatically get. 2) If you lower a coilover system "to much" or close to its maximum lowest setting, they function poorly & handling / ride comfort suffers a lot. What is the offset (ET) & weight of your Enkei wheels ? Rob43
Stock is ET +40, the Volk ZE40 in a 18x7.5" / 5x100 is ET +48. Technically ET +48 will work, but that extra ~1/3" offset is moving the wheel & tire Inward toward the suspension strut. Concerning wheel pricing: Don't get me wrong, I like quality products & expensive items, but at roughly ~$4000 Dollars for a set of new wheels & tires......I'll pass. Rob43
Your Enkei ET 45 wheel will work (picture below), personally I'd mount it and drive it for a little bit. Then I'd reassess the way it looks because maybe you want a ~5mm spacer to push the wheel outward. 5mm spacers that work: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XDFSXF6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_13?smid=AL8PMJ3C73LV6&psc=1 Rob43
