Perhaps this is reflective of the younger generations view on the prius. [attachmentid=6716][attachmentid=6717] I must say I was shocked to see that four of the first six results were of Prius hating groups. The profanity laden group was created by some high school kids in redwood, ca - go figure. while the Enlightened People against Prius Ownership had multiple links to prius bashing articles. I believe these have been discussed before but here they are. The article conducted by independent analysts on the environmental cost of a large SUV verses a hybrid: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/04/01/new-stu...r-lifetime-than An article highlighting some of the devastating peripheral effects of the Prius: http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/pages/live/a...in_page_id=1770 An article on the ultimate solution to our energy and environmental needs: http://www.gm.com/company/gmability/adv_te..._fcv/index.html As a college student myself, I find it disturbing how ignorant these people are but at the same time, I believe Facebook is a good grassroots indicator of my generation. Granted there are only a few members in each of these groups but the number of these groups are astounding. Thought?
I do not know, I count 78 total members for all those sites. Facebook averages 3 billion hits a day. Go to the next page and the Prius enthusiast group has 209 members, Prius power 93, while the I hate the Prius group in your image has 5. Doesn't seem like a big problem. The links in your post (CNW, arid wilderness) have all been thoroughly dissected before on this site. Your anti prius groups in your images could easily just be gm trolls (likely, given the pathetic numbers of members each of the groups has).
I would most definitely not conclude that the 'younger generation' is properly represented by this rather weird group. Perhaps they are 'chemically challenged' with trolling a membership requirement. Hate groups are just that - hate groups.
If I remember correctly, I went through phases in which I liked/hated things and praised/bashed things. Not because I knew anything about what I was talking about but rather because it tickled my fancy that day and I had peer support. The more attention you give them the more attention they will receive.
Speaking of facebook and Prius. I got this pic off the site just today. It might be old, but it's new too me. And funny to boot.
I see the post above saying Prius Enthusiasts having about 200 members is almost a year old. Now it has about 700 members. Prius Enthusiasts Yeah, I'm in it, too.
You are quite correct. Those curious to learn more about Prius grossly outnumber those hoping to impair its progress. Downloads of the User-Guide have been averaging 500 per day for quite some time now! .
