Thanks, an interesting set of links. Especially that last one, I had no idea that our corporate masters (and I mean that in a nice way, in case they are reading this) had changed their minds on global warming. Google turned up this link with some more details. Who'd have seen this coming a year or two ago? Good news as far as I can tell. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...mp;refer=energy
My conclusion: MarinJohn lives is a [physically] very beautiful area of the country, yet lives a sheltered existence of eating, drinking, and sleeping political discourse. Apparently he as nothing better to do. How insane is that!

Perhaps GE is looking for some government 'research' money, or has a product that could be sold if only the government would make it mandatory. Equality Bites by Jonathan Chait If there is one trend in American life that most irks economic conservatives, it is probably rising inequality. It's not the inequality itself that bothers them, as most will happily admit. It is the perception of inequality and, worse, the constant discussion of inequality that is so irritating. It offends their view of capitalism, helps justify all sorts of nefarious government interventions, and makes the conservative economic agenda (most of which tends to increase inequality) http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article/22171.html by Jayme Evans Hillary Pilloried Hillary Clinton will say or do anything to get elected. By Patrick J. Michaels That, coupled with the people's general satisfaction with the warm winter and their prosperity as the planet warms, should provoke the real debate concerning global warming. If, in fact, we can develop technology to choose the planet's mean temperature, where should we set it? I don't know the answer, but that's the question society will ultimately wrestle with as it enjoys warmer winters, and finally acknowledges the futility of attempting to stop warming with impotent legislative acts. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZTI1O...TU1ZGM5MTMyOTY= Windsurfing to Guantánamo Who knew that protesting American oppression could be such fun? By Hashem Al-Karar Bush's new Iraq strategy is not intended for Iraq. It is really a new strategy for Iran, after the failure of Washington's dual containment policy which was designed specifically to prevent that country from obtaining The Bomb. MILITARY STRIKES ARE INEVITABLE The story goes that America will not attack Iran because if it did, the more than 130,000 American troops stationed in Iraq would become hostages overnight. But this story is nothing but good fiction. Don't fool yourselves, folks. The strikes are coming. What was billed as Bush's new Iraq strategy will become Bush's Gulf War IV strategy. Firing up a PowerPoint presentation, Maliki and his national security adviser proposed that U.S. troops withdraw to the outskirts of Baghdad and let Iraqis take over security in the strife-torn capital. Maliki said he did not want any more U.S. troops at all, just more authority. The president listened intently to the unexpected proposal at their Nov. 30 meeting, according to accounts from several administration officials.
