My wife got a Model 3 Long Range over three months ago. I'd be happy to answer some questions from an unbiased perspective if anyone is curious. We have put almost 5000 miles on it.
Thanks! It is very hard to. It is the best car I have ever driven, even compared to the Prius. I still love the Prius, but this is a "different kind of car."
Awesome! Congratulations! I’m on the reservation list, but unfortunately, it’s the opposite situation for us: My wife hates the screen and interior in general, so not much chance we’ll be getting one...
She should at least drive it. The screen is very intuitive actually. The interior is basic-looking, but the materials and fit and finish are good.
Trunk space is pretty good for the trunk, though it doesn't have the practicality of a hatchback. The frunk is pretty small and feels like an afterthought, but it is helpful when you take home food and don't want your interior to smell like it. For the cosmetic issues, we only had a few scratches found during delivery, and someone buffed out all of them. It was probably from the wrapping when they shipped the car over here. Otherwise, nothing else was wrong. A lot of people have had issues though. No reliability issues either. This is a 2018. The early build 2017s have tons of issues. I'm really glad our reservation was later because of this. In April, Edmunds had a lot of problems with their long term Model 3 (2017 model). 2017 Tesla Model 3 Long-Term Road Test - New Updates
I personally am OK with it, but she thinks it “looks like a PC on a temp employee desk.” (Actually that’s not an exact quote. I think the exact quote was, “看起来像电脑放在临时工办公桌上”.)
I placed a reservation on March 31, 2016, an hour after it debuted, and we got it on June 9, 2018. People who already own a Tesla got the car much sooner because they get first priority. We configured it I think in April 2018. The delivery process was pretty easy because a lot of paperwork is done when you configure the car online. There is still some paperwork you have to do on delivery day however.
Your car looks really good! What do you like best about your model 3? What do you like least about it?
$60k after taxes and fees. After rebates it is $52.5k. Thanks! My favorite part is either the driving dynamics or the technology. The glass roof is really nice, too. My least favorite parts are the stiffer ride and that the backseat is almost reclined at a 90º angle without much legroom. These problems are kind of common with the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4, so I don't mind it that much. The ride is actually pretty compliant given that it handles like a Porsche Cayman. It is RWD, single motor with the longer range. I like the red, but it makes the car a magnet for the cops. Almost went with silver, but the blue looks better.
