My car (an early 2004) has a "Authorized Modification" decal on the inside lower left (drivers side) corner of the hood. It gives numbers of 88981-47082 899834-708501 Dealer Code 02031 date -2/26/04 Authorization Code 40A I do not find a TSB that matches this date or number. Does anyone know what modification was done?
Sounds like the 40D was not applied. SSC-40D superceded ssc-40A. Also you don't have the latest ECM calibration code, though they don't usually update the calibration unless you get the 'engine failed to start' problem. What's your VIN? You may also need the brake light switch replacement. Again, I suggest seeing your dealer, having them punch in your VIN into TechInfo, and finding out what campaigns are still outstanding for your car. Also ask about considering TSB EG038-04 or one that may have superceded it.
