Sometimes when I turn on my automatic climate control it sets it on recirculate, and some times it doesn't. How does it decide?
The bigger the difference between the setpoint and the outside temp, the more it wants to cool. Recirculate will recool already cooled air, so it goes for that when needed. If it only needs to knock off a couple of degrees, it won't bother with recirculate. At least, my use tells me that...
