Okay, I know the car they used in the video isn't a Prius. But I guess the system is the same between Lexus and Toyota... http://www.fquick.com/videos/viewvideo.php?id=520 See how bad it performs.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mcsj @ Jan 4 2007, 03:28 PM) </div> Given that the self parking is for paralell parking or back in parking and they don't start out in anything resembling the orientation you'd want to do either, their results seem a bit predictable. The one review of it I heard on the radio said it liked the feature for paralell parking, though it took a long time. Then again, I don't have speakers on this PC, and probably missed the comedy of the piece. An alternative experience is shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkEu-PdVlK0 *EDIT: for a video of a Prius self parking, see here (the second video lower on the page). http://www.freshcreation.nl/comments.php?id=75_0_1_0_C
I can't wait till someone hits another car and tries to blame the auto manufacturer. The auto insurance companies will no doubt issue policy amendments to everyone about this: "If you hit another vehicle while using automatic parking assist, it's still your fault. No blaming the manufacturer."
