I just purchased a portable compressor to keep tabs and be able to air up at home or on the go but noticed that the compressor needs 15 amps of power to operate but my question is since our car's engine doesn't always turn on, on and is in "Ready" should the car have the 15 amps or is at 12 amps like when the engine is off? . Thought this would be a nice accessory to share with other members here too. (optimize MPG in case the tire pressure drops) Any feedback is appreciated Added a picture for reference.
someone else was using one of these without a problem, unless they make a smaller one. nice looking unit. when you plug in, you're drawing down the 12v. then the engine comes on to recharge it. give it a shot. what's the worst that can happen, blown fuse?
Used the portable compressor with no issue. Definitely a good buy for those that want to keep tabs on their tire pressure.
