Hope this is the right section. I bought a 2017 Prius 2 in 2/2017. At least that’s what I asked to buy & was sold (per the salesman I bought it from). A couple of weeks ago I met a fellow Prius owner with (what I thought was) the same make, model, year & color as my car. Only thing is he said the 2 comes with backup sensors (which he showed me on his car) and I don’t have those! Was I ripped off? My car does have a backup camera. I thought vs 1 has cloth interior & no gps or backup camera, vs 2 has cloth interior, no gps but backup camera & vs 3 has leather interior (his doesn’t), gps (his doesn’t) & backup camera (his does) & backup sensors (his does). Was I lied to or did he luck out? Thanks!!!
welcome! go to the toyota owners website, register and plug in your vin for model package and features. perhaps the other fellows was a bit different. do you have the window sticker?
The backup sensors were added mid way through the model year. I bought mine in October 2016 so I feel your pain.
He lucked out. The Three doesn’t have leather (unless it’s the Three Touring). The intelligent clearance sonar (ICS), blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert were added midway through 2017 as part of a no charge safety package.
Not sure about aftermarket for the PRIUS - but I had them put on my new FORD in 2008 by an accessory installer - I think about $400.
Thanks for this info. Well since I bought mine in feb of 2017, looks like mine didn’t have them added yet. DAMN! I thought buying it during their beginning of the year sale got me a great deal. He & I paid the same price, too.
