Break applied, gas pedal to the floor. The Drive Wheels do not disengage to allow you to charge battery. On like my other Priuses. This one if you step on the gas you feel it trying to Go forward.
. It has been sitting, not sure if a wire got chewed. Any ideas?
    Thanks

If it tries to move forward with the brake pedal depressed, the brake system needs to be checked.

This is a more serious problem than the inability to recharge the battery.

That's how it has always felt to me.

It's not really avoidable. In order to generate current for force charging, the engine has to produce torque. 30/108 of the engine's torque goes to MG1 to generate that charging current. But the other 78/108 of the engine's torque always goes through to the axle drive. Can't be changed or disengaged. You're just using the brakes to keep the axles from turning and keep the car from moving.

The car has to be in drive for force charging to work!
