I have a 2004 and recently replaced the big battery and then the 12v as well. Yesterday the lights came back on (big triangle and engine light) . Took it back to the shop and he looked at it and said its was some part to do with charging? Idk. Anyhow came out this morning and car wont start at all. Key stuck in ignition and not starting. I unplugged the battery for a few minutes plug it back in and it's still is on without the key in it I put the key in the ignition to try and start it and it still won't start. What the hell is going on? It seems like ever since I took it to the guy to get fixed stuff just keeps getting worse! I need my damn car for work! Can anyone help me?
OK. When you normally operate your car, does the car start if the fob is in your pocket, or do you have to put it into the slot? Well, anyway. Tried to hang out long enough for a response, but I have to go. My initial thought is your 12v is dead. With no additional info about what's working and not working, that's just a guess. 12v batteries can drain overnight if the driver door courtesy lamp stays on due a door switch failure, or if the brake emergency power capacitor bank is failing. Also, if anything like lights are left on of course. Good luck.
Are you saying the car wouldn't turn off when you pressed the Start button? That's one of the symptoms of a dead 12V battery. When that occurs, if you hold the start button down for 3 seconds or more, it should turn off.
welcome! what guy? what hybrid battery? it is likely bad, and he does not want to honer the warranty the only reliable battery is a new battery
