2015 PIP with 62K miles. Battery charges up to a certain point as show. Will only charge when going down the hill or by plugging it to power. This issue started to happen in the last 2 months. No warning lights yet. Should I worry about replacing the battery? I though I was supposed to at around 160k miles. Warranty covers within the 100k miles but I'm not the original owner. Am I still covered?
That looks totally normal for a plug-in that hasn't been plugged in for a long time. Charging will be limited to HV capacity when only engine power is available.
what was it like before 2 months ago? are you sure the warranty isn't 10/150? yes, the warranty is transferable
You say 62,000 miles but the odo in the picture says 81,600 miles. So, how many miles are on your car? Hybrid battery warranty is 8 years or 100,000 miles (except in CA emissions states). Depending on the “in service date”, you may be out of warranty due to time.
