According to Dave Hermance, an environmental engineer with the Toyota Technical Center, the battery in the Prius has been tested for 180,000 miles. He was answering questions about hybrid cars on an early morning TV show.
I'm gonna assume this is the Taxi battery? I always thought it was right cool of Toyota to buy his car to see how it had held up
No... it was bench tested from what I recall. The only variable that they can't replicate in testing is time. Time will tell if the battery will hold up for ten years or so. I sure hope so!!
