Source: Punish the men who pay for sex, rather than the women lured into that life | Sonia Sodha | The Guardian Which is less bad? Except for Dad, many women assume most men are flawed. Personally, I prefer Nevada practices that regulate and institutionalized prostitution. Not available in Dixie, we have well known 'hook up' bars, massage parlors, and a lot of unsafe sex evident by sexual diseases. Bob Wilson
it's all bad, but if there were a solution, we would have come up with before now. decriminalize prostitution, life sentences for pimps?
.....They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
Nevada's primary Sin Cities are not examples of legalization. It is legal in only certain counties, and even there not in all cities. With legalized and regulated practitioners capturing only 1.5% of the market, I doubt they are getting much tax money from it. From wikipedia: "... Six counties have at least one active brothel, which mainly operate in isolated, rural areas. The state's most populated counties, Clark (which contains Las Vegas) and Washoe (which contains Reno), are among those that do not permit prostitution. It is also illegal in Nevada's capital, Carson City, an independent city. The vast majority of prostitution in Nevada takes place illegally in the metropolitan areas of Las Vegas and Reno. About 66 times more money is spent by customers on illegal prostitution in Nevada than in the regulated brothels." = = = = = = = Wallace Idaho was an example of illegal but widely tolerated and accepted sex work. Even from far away, I heard it mentioned frequently while it was still practiced: Wallace, Idaho's proud history of prostitution | Books & Authors | Lewiston | Inland 360: Where you go for what you do Though when Charles Kuralt of CBS' very long running "On The Road" segment visited Wallace, he focused on the last stoplight on I-90, not the town's other source of infamy.
Lady Gaga wins: Saturday Night Live version: Marine boot camp was easy compared to her exercise. Bob Wilson
I liked SNL1 a lot more than the 50's version - but that's me being me again. That's back when they were MUCH more irreverent and a helluva lot more entertaining. Ms. Gaga is in my Youtube music rotation but I'm more of a 'Hold My Hand' kind of dude, and I will always be amazed and humbled at how she added life to Tony's final years....speaking of Sin City. Definitely.....under my skin. She's an artist of immense talent and depth, and that's a fact. Brains AND a heart. CAN'T wait to see what the 60-year old comes up with. I had to look up the lyrics to Abracadabra.....but I might have been distracted by the Margaret Atwood vibe. THAT is probably another 'me' thing, and another example of how the industry is so horribly transactional about THEIR 'Me (too)' things. I've tried and failed miserably at penetrating several of Margaret's novels - but I might try again. Maybe after Austen......
Watching it with closed captions and the sound off is a "maybe you hadda be there" kind of experience.
Nothing on this planet is as mean as a human female under 18 - or as stupid as a human male under.......30? 40???
