Look real fast at the beginning... at the .49 seconds mark, a new Gen4 Prius! Come to wonderful Los Angeles...
How can you go wrong.... All the great things L.A. offers! The Beach Boys OJ Earthquakes High-Speed Chases Fires Traffic Jams ....and a Gen4 Prius!
I'll keep the Redneck Riviera for now, thanks. Good Peeps out on the left coast, but I just can't deal with the urban sprawl. This morning I left for work at 0751. Traffic was a bitch. BOTH LIGHTS were red. Almost didn't make it to work before 8.
I've had my fill of this place! 62 years of this crap. If I had any sense, I would've moved away from here long ago. Lots of my relatives went to Montana. They got the hell out.
And more relatives went up to Washington state. And to Idaho. And to Oregon. I'm the only idiot left here! In 10 years, nobody will be speaking English here.
Uh, I moved to Washington in 1992/3 Rodney King riot was the last straw. Of course, I was living in Palm Springs. Where, depending on what part of town you were in, it could all be Spanish-speaking also. Funny thing. My mom was a native Spanish-speaker, and when she was with her sisters, they would chatter away. But, unfortunately, I was strongly discouraged from speaking Spanish. And, she had no patience for people who spoke Spanish out in public. Grew up in Downey, though. I do miss Doheny Beach, Wind and Sea Beach and small skiff fishing in the Kelp beds off Isla Vista. As well as anchoring at Santa Cruz or Santa Rosa island for a couple of days at a time.
Have an uncle who's a native Texan, graduated from UT, etc., who got transferred to Cali back in the early 80's. For decades we listened to both he and his family brag about Cali. Now? He's retired, kids are grown and married, and they all are happy to be back "home" now living in the Austin and Houston parts of the state.
There are LOTS of places I would actually live in California, if the economy was better/jobs were available. The Redwood Coast (Mendocino, DelNorte, Humboldt). I actually went to college in Humboldt County -- yeah Humboldt State Lumberjacks! Oregon's Coast and/or Coast Range would be great too. Southern California, I hate even going to visit.
I agree with you sir. California has many beautiful areas. It is very "geology diverse." Is that a word? The beautiful ocean, all the beautiful mountains, deserts, all the lakes, the beautiful national parks, beautiful coastline... Unfortunately, it's the PEOPLE that mess everything up! I'd love it here it wasn't for the people. Maybe I should become a hermit…
My wife says, if it were not for the job, and the fact that I WILL pick up the phone when the kids call, I am already a hermit! LOL
