Last week my 2008 Prius started making a faint beep each time I let up on the brake after a stop when I remove my foot off the brake. It also will make this faint beep when I let up on the brake even if the engine is not on. It is faint, nothing as loud as the beeps for seat belts or backup. The Prius is not experiecing any warning lights or any other noticeable problem and is running great. Any ideas? Thanks! John
It is probably a faint squeak and not an actual "beep". On your next maintenance visit, a shot of spray lube should take care of it.
Oh! So that's w hat that faint beep noise really is? I would have never guessed! Mind you, I thought nothing of it really.........thought it was just the myriad Prius microprocessors cordially agreeing with each other
air in the brake system will give a weird squeak usually when its cold. I had to get the '05 brake fluid flushed to make it stop.
Hahahaha.....why would mice squeak just the once, each time I braked? BTW, This is no longer happening - the noise went away after I had new front brake discs installed by Toyota last December
