Best fuel economy Toyota Prius Source: EPA According to EPA estimates, the Toyota Prius is the most fuel-efficient vehicle sold in the U.S. The Prius also happens to be a comfortable and practical family car. Looks like the Camry got a nod as best selling car last year, with a mention to the hybrid option. Since it's from Edmunds, I sort of expected them to spread misinformation about the hybrid drivetrain, and they delivered. It's fairly easy to accelerate up to 40mph on electric power alone, if you've got a fairly level stretch of road, and a high state of charge on the battery... and you have a soft foot.
