I have over 16K miles on my 2017 Prius 2 Eco now, and my last fill was the best yet. Mostly local driving on two lane roads with speed limits 55 mph or less. This tank went 702 miles on 9.8 gallons, which is 71.7 mpg! The computer predicted 72.9 mpg, which is less optimistic than the usual 6%, so it's possible this tank didn't get quite as full. But even worst case assuming 6% less than 72.9 would be 68.5 mpg, a remarkable achievement!
That would be overthinking the consistency of the computer MPG display, at least on my Gen3s. So, absent evidence now that the previous refill went over, or later that the next refill takes too much, just accept that 71.7 calculation as accurate.
I guess I don't drive my car properly... or I'm using the warp-drive too often. My best tank, was the one I just completed. Just shy of 600 miles driven. Refilled the tank with 9.7 gallons. It came out to 58.2 indicated and 56.5 mpg (calculated.) And I drove the whole time in Eco mode. It was all stop & go city driving. (And I did that with misaligned wheels, and out of balance tires! )
lucky you...were I live everyone is driving at 70 to 80 mph on the freeway. I wish I could drive 55 to 60 to get even better mpg Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
