Electric Mini: 0-60 in 4 Seconds: It Has Motors In Its Wheels : TreeHugger seems that the Mini platform, if mass produced in either a hybrid configuration or otherwise, would pose a real threat due to the Prius' comparatively poor performance. It's already stolen some prius customers with its great gas mileage even in petrol form. I am wondering how many potential 2010 Prius customers would jump ship to a Mini EV or Mini Hybrid if BMW decided to release one. What do you think? I think I would definitely be convinced to get a mini especially if they make a slightly larger variant as is being discussed. We know Toyota has the capability to build a better performing prius - they could use the IS platform for example, among others - so lets hope they put in the effort to make it enjoyable to drive so people don't feel they have to comprimise performance to get handling....otherwise they might get squashed by the boys and girls at BMW
