Hello, I just noticed today on my new to me 2004 Prius, that there seems to be a flat-black film that covers the interior metal part of the doors. There is a spot on the drivers door that started to peel off. The pant underneath seems to be a more shiny black. Do all Prius' have this film? How do I stop it from peeling any more? Thank you. Well I just went out and looked. Mine is an 05 and I didn't see anything like what you ask about. What little metal is exposed on the interior of the doors is just painted the same color as the rest of the car, didn't see any film.
I think you're talking about protective "film" put on at the factory, which the dealer is supposed to remove, but didn't with yours. Nor did the original owner. I had a small piece inside my door, too. You can just pull it off and voila!--- a new surface.
