Working on a 2008 prius for a friend. He swapped engine and gearbox from a low-mileage wrecked car into another prius (I believe of same age) with higher mileage. DIdn't start, so he swapped battery from the low-mileage vehicle into this one. Runs fine, but the red triangle comes on with a double blink - pause - double blink - pause pattern. Read code P0A0D (High-voltage system Interlock Circuit High), cleared it. Still blinks with that pattern. Any ideas @Patrick Wong ? (@andy song)
What device, scanner or program did you use to read the codes? Not all OBDII programs or adapters allow you to read codes that are important for diagnostics. And there are very few programs that give subcodes to error codes. And there can be a fan of branches to search for causes.
Yes the car runs and drives great. Not sure what you mean by "floor it", but when I give full gas it moves along like a prius should
If the car runs now, P0A0D must have just been a historical code if you could clear it, from a time when the safety interlock circuit was open. Double-blink on the master warning light is one I hadn't heard before. Interesting.
Maybe it's the vehicle security light / immobilizer light? People new to working on Prius often wonder why that light is always blinking when car is off, which is perfectly normal.
