I have noticed that when I stream audi via the Bluetooth on my tech and touring package (same head unit as the V package) that the song and artist information does not come up until I pause and restart the music. Also I can not seem to understand how to search through albums and playlists via bluetooth. Also is there not a voice command to play music via blue tooth or is that only active when USB is plugged in? Any help appreciated.
Even when you skip to the next track? Sometimes my unit (slightly different from yours but same company - Denso) doesn't show the artist/track upon startup but will show if I skip to the next track (or wait til the song is finished). This is with an iPhone4. I thought one of the Display Audio units had smarter voice recognition and I'm not sure if it's with the Denso unit but I just use my iPhone's voice control to get the playlist, artist or album that I want to play. The car treats it as a "phone call" so I just hold the voice control button and speak into the car's mic.
The metadata issue seems common with iOS 5 devices, probably a software bug that'll be fixed. You can only browse music over Bluetooth when the phone support the correct profile. I think iOS 5 support AVRCP 1.4, so it should support browse, probably when the bug is fixed on the nav. No voice commands for Bleutooth audio, only when the device is plugged into USB. Then it downloads all the tag data to the nav and lets you do voice searches for artist, album, playlist and song.
