My 2010 multi display is blurry. It almost looks like fogged windows or a smoky coating. I am considering removing the dash to "clean" it. Has anyone seen this? I found a few posts that people never responded to about the same issue. Thanks! J
Where exactly does it look blurry? The warning lights (at both ends, plus turn signal and mode lights above the speed) and the Multi-Information Display (rectangle area right of center) are all really where they appear to be, behind the lens there. Removing the dash top would be necessary to reach them. The speedometer, fuel, mpg, and PRNDB indicators are not where they appear to be. They project upward from a window in the top of the dash, on your side of that display and below it. Sometimes gunk accumulates on that window. Have you tried cleaning it?
In addition to everything ChapmanF said ... If you have something like a small plastic bag in that area below the apparent position of the display, that could easily make the projected display blurry, because the projected image would have to shine through it. I once had a piece of paper wander into that area, which caused the projected items to appear totally missing, causing me to panic briefly. The paper was not visible from a normal seated position in the driver's seat. At best, those projected displays are much too dim to be easily readable on a sunny day, especially when I'm wearing sunglasses..
Multi-Information Display (rectangle area right of center) is the only area where this issue presents. I would guess it is a bit dim, but that's not really the issue. It looks smokey or like a haze because you can't see the information clearly. I didn't have this issue on my 08' ha ha, but I had to send her to the scrap yard after 299k.
