I would like to install channels/tracks on my 2017'r roof for a Thule roof rack, this will require me to drill holes in the roof to hold the tracks. My concern is that I have the moonroof and don't how far the "glass" extends on the roof. I really don't want to use a door mounted roof rack. I used this system on my 2012 Scion XB with great success and would like to duplicate on my Prius. I used Thule TP54 tracks for my last car. Has anyone here done something similar?
I may have missed it but I don't remember anyone being successful in installing a permanent roof rack on a Prius v that has the panoramic roof. I did an advanced search on rack in the Prius v accessories forum - here are the results: https://priuschat.com/search/51917907/?q=rack&o=date&c[title_only]=1&c[node]=123 I posted a photo in one of the threads that shows the temporary mount roof rack sold in Europe for the similar Prius+ with panoramic roof. I don't know who makes this particular rack but I do know that Thule is the supplier for other roof racks sold by Toyota dealers in Europe. The installation for the European Prius+ temporary mount roof rack can be viewed at https://www.toyota-tech.eu/aimuploads/6a3d684f-1e77-4e2d-8f52-4d36fc35e3e9/Prius%20plus_Roof_Rack_PZ403_G8610_GA_AIM_002_288_1.pdf
