Hello PRIUSchat this thread is much more for me and BOOM, my new Prius c4. I dont use any of the "normal" social networking media such as but not limited to: Face book, My space, E-mail based systems, X box live, ect. In fact this is the only one... ever. So this will be a the place I upload and share my car with anyone cares to look.
My first fill up I thought the tank could only hold 9.5 gal but guess thats not true. Almost makes me want to drive until it stops just to find out how much it really holds
Heh... since you mentioned myspace, it seems like it's effectively dead anyway. I like and use Facebook daily though.
Wait. I'm trying to figure out your numbers. Did you refill until the last click or was this the dealer tank? 609/9.56=63 which is a 13% error between calculated and indicated.
Im a little confused lol. This was the first time I put gas in it. All the gas that i had used up to this point was what was in the tank the day I drove it home. a week ago from Tuesday.
Man i got you now. 71.1 MPG was THAT drive not the whole tank. Should of flipped it to trip. Ill make sure i do that from now on.
I'm still getting used to the display option on the c. The GenIII doesn't show tank mpg and trip mpg on the same screen like that.
Impressive! I don't let my fuel bars get that low. But I'm glad to know its 9.5 gallons people keep asking me lol. So I fill up when I have about to gallons left or 2-3 bars.
Seems like you were on empty or the gas pump was not calibrated correctly. There has been some issue with gas pumps in my area lately. You must have been at or near empty though...
Dont forget that the filler tube will hold fuel as well. Tank = 9.5 gallons, Plus whatever the filler tank will hold.
15'' had to wait 7 weeks to get it with 15''. All the PC4 had the 16'' which just was not going to happen. I wanted the tighter turning. Maybe i don't know i always pump until it clicks and stops then im done
You should not fill past the click, but its pretty clear that your tank was basically bone dry. The fuel lines hold and filler tube can hold a little bit of fuel. I typically fill up when the car beeps at me and tells me im on my last bar - that fill is usually about 8.5 gallons.
Most the time I don't let the tank get much less than 50%. I just wanted to push it so if i ever find myself miles and miles from any where and need gas I want stress so much. Picked up a few things at the store today. Will post soon. To hot to mess around with the car right now.
You should always pump until it clicks once then stop. Filling into the filler tube can damage the evaporative emissions system. I've seen damage from overfilling before.
