Bought a "smart key fob" for gen 2 from Ebay, how to tell it is really a "smart" key?

I tried to program the car to recognize the key by the part 2 of the "chicken" dance, no success so far.
The seller listed the key as "smart", but there is no Silver Toyota logo on the back. I have read someone commenting that without the logo, it is not a "smart" key. The back cover is just a piece of plastic.

Is there any way to tell by looking at the electronics on the pcb?
