Hello, I just swapped my brake actuator/pump. Swap went well, no issues. Put on a new 12v battery. Everything went back together well, but now the engine will not start. Double checked all connections, fuses, everything looks good. Just don't know what to look at now. I've spent so much time trying to figure it out that now my hybrid battery only has 2 bars left. Scan tool is not reading any codes other than the battery being low.
Just looked that up, I did not push it back down to lock it in. However, it did not change anything. Engine still won't kick on. Forgot to add earlier, car will only go into neutral, will not go into drive or reverse.
I think if you're able to make neutral or make that happen with the shift lever then your power is okay if the orange safety plug is not incorrectly I think you get nothing you can verify this by going out and lifting up on the safety plug but not removing it and then try to start your car Do you get your display and your neutral and all that no problem? I can't remember but I don't think so If you do. Then what you need to do is with the safety plug and the position that you have it in now when you go to push it down you need to push it down extremely hard like you're slamming it with your finger it'll actually hurt your finger when you do it correctly A lot of these don't seat very well so on the last stroke after you put the plug in you push down on the curved bar to lock it in place and then you slam it home which makes the last connection and I mean some of these cars you have to really make it snap instead of click sounds like the things almost breaking on the last step but you will not break it on the last step unless you stick a piece of metal in it and smack it with a hammer If you use your finger you cannot break the handle on the plug I promise maybe if you were an orangutan or had that kind of strength possibly.
Now that the orange interlock is properly locked into place, try to disconnect your 12v battery negative for a few seconds (make sure it's actually charged). Then try to start the car again.
