Hello, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this but I’m just looking to see if anyone has had any experience with this. To make a long story short, I live in Florida and was visiting family up in Minnesota. On my way back I was driving on the highway in Milwaukee when all of a sudden all the brake lights came on and I could barely stop the car. I was able to get it into a Toyota dealership where they told me it had the C1391 code and they would have to order parts 04008-11147 (master cylinder) and 04006-22147 (pump assembly). They have the master cylinder in stock and ready to go but I was told that the pump assembly is on national back order and they don’t know when they will get the part. Has anyone had this problem recently and how long did it take to get fixed? I have a 2011 Gen 3 Prius. I wouldn’t really care if I had to leave it for a couple of days but my sister had to drive me back to Minnesota so I could leave my dog with my parents and fly back to Florida. So I’m kinda stuck without a way to get my dog and no way to get to work (and rental cars are expensive). I appreciate any help. Thanks!
This might do; not sure why the part number is different: description: PUMP ASSY, BRAKE BOOSTER part no: 47070-47060: Summary page: Brake tube & clamp for Toyota Prius XW30, 3 generation 01.2009 - 11.2011 - Toyota Car and Auto Spare Parts - Genuine Online Car Parts Catalogue - Amayama Detail page: Brake tube & clamp for Toyota Prius XW30, 3 generation 01.2009 - 11.2011 - Toyota Car and Auto Spare Parts - Genuine Online Car Parts Catalogue - Amayama I'd recommend to return to the Amayama home page, check I've gone down the right rabbit holes.
They were on national back order a month ago when I called my dealer looking for one. They were able to give me the names of a few other local dealers that showed to have one or more in stock but they didn't know if they were for sale or earmarked for customer cars. I ended up going through a hybrid shop that had both parts in stock.
Do you mind if I ask who you went through and do you think they would be willing to ship the part I need to Milwaukee?
The mast cylinder / booster is what was on backorder for me but i went with a local hybrid shop and the one I got from them was the last one they had in stock. They just by chance ordered it a month earlier when I inquired about getting them replaced and they realized they didn't have any for the gen3 in stock. Most of the Toyota dealers around Houston take online orders and will ship if you want to call Fred Haas Toyota in Spring and just ask if they have any available. They are the ones that gave me the names of the dealers that showed them in stock without me asking. I know a couple they gave me were Autonation Toyota, Mike Calvert Toyota and Fort Bend Toyota. Going by the part number you listed for the pump Toyota Parts Deal claims to have it in stock. 04006-22147 Genuine Toyota Pump Assembly, Brake Boo
The jdm engines have em imported used . They look like new . This is what I was talking bout more than a month ago. But uhh many thot no problem getting .
Brandon, sorry about your experience, I got my Prius 2012 at dealership waiting on brake booster pump back order, so we kinda share this experience. Awful time with gas prices, hang in there and pray for the best, avoid the rest.
I'm going to order one from the place where I bought my JDM engine so I have it here in stock it seems these things like to fail around 150 plus k I'm well above that but with no apparent brake troubles but I hate to have to pay opportunity just for the part on a car this old I mean for an engine it's one thing or a battery HV for the brake booster accumulator pump I might be out of the car before then $200 I can swing no problem
Just an update everyone, I got a call last week from the dealership and they finally have an estimated time for the part to arrive. May 31, but at least that’s something.
As of June 27th the car is still not repaired and they have no word on when the part will arrive. Apparently they had been told by Toyota it would arrive by the end of May and it still hasn’t shown up.
I just ordered one from the JDM place so I have it here I have to do the same with my Gen 2 so all is good
Great news, as of July 27th the car is fixed and ready to go! I’m heading up to Milwaukee in a couple weeks to pick it up
Wow if this was at a dealer I'd be making them charge my battery up to snuff before I pick that mess up I'll tell you that they'd be doing something sitting two months waiting for a part in America No I expect that like in South Africa or in the bush in Australia or something
