I want to change my rear Break but one of the sliding bolt is frozen by corrosion and it has no bolt head. any good suggestion to remove it. I removed the rubber and tried with a plier with no luck. If I only could get some good grip or momentum on it I believe it could come loose. Image of problem
Remove the brake rotor and bolt the caliper bracket back in place. Then try working (twisting) the caliper back and forth to get it off the pin. Use penetrating oil. If it works then you need new pins and rubber boots. If the pin is badly seized, you may have to replace the entire caliper assembly. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yeah I should have caught that by the name I wasn't paying attention That's a nice setup hell just changed the bracket screw it The caliper may be fine but the bracket and slide pins are certainly something usually I can beat him off of there pretty good fashion. Then sand them down clean them again sand them with fine or paper and the fix the new rubbers and grease I thought they made a kit that repaired these pins actually unscrew off the brake mounting plate I thought and you screw new ones on and so on and so forth.
Went to the mechanic he used a heat gun on the caliper and hit the break anchor will holding the caliper like 20 times then it came loose
