Break in - single beep

    Hello Forum,
    I have a 2013 Prius V. 200,420 miles. Almost all Highway. 42.5 mph.

    question: the car was ransacked last night. The burglar may have been inside for 5 - 10 minutes. The doors were unlocked. At some point, the car let out a single beep. I wake up and chase the burglar down the street. The car “Enterprise” saved its life!!

    What causes the beep?

    Impossible to tell.
    I suspect that the intruder accidentally pushed a button.
