More news from the 'verse" Survivor of horrific crash sues god, the universe, and a patch of gravel for negligence causing pain, injury and anxiety. The plaintiff's car failed to stop in time before careening off an embankment. The claim seeks unspecified damages for the defendant's negligence, which allegedly caused the car to keep moving despite full application of the brakes. "If the physical laws of the universe had been different this accident would not have happened." Said the driver, still wearing bandages from the injuries suffered in the accident. "The universe should be held responsible for my pain" he said with a catch in his voice. "And where was god? Surely, he failed to act when he knew full well what was about to happen." The patch of gravel did not return calls before press time.
Gawd forbid! SUV's dualies & mongo trucks actually having to pay for their share of road repairs? Say it's not so! Next thing you know, they'll want to shake down RV's pulling toy haulers, and the $60,000 sand cars they haul ... you know the ones ... where the owners 'claim' they built 'em ... all by their self ... in their overcrowded garage ... and btw, it was built out of only $749 worth of parts (so they're only taxed on the $749 value ... wink wink). Pretty darn creative ... those home brew $60,000 professionally built/looking sand car builders ... oh ... I mean $749 sand cars ... hea hea hea. .
Actually, registration fees for my GF's 15,000 lb motorhome is a little bit less than the fee(s) for the Prius. And my 4,200 lb Ford Explorer only about 1/4 of that. But we pay a lot more in fuel tax per mile for either one of those.
