Has anyone had their retractable sunshade stop retracting? We normally have the sunshade up and now for some reason it just doesn't want to go back. Poking a finger on the roller lets me to roll it back but there's nothing to roll it back.
Interesting. Is this an aftermarket shade or purchased accessory? Because in the US, Prius only comes with a retractable cargo cover. As far as I know there is no "2nd row rear door side sunshade.". I'd really like to see a picture of what you are talking about.
you show a 2009 prius, but are in the 'v' forum. not sure about the v, but gen II liftback has no factory sunshade here.wish they did tho!
OK, I guess that's more related to the European/Australian models. Looks like this and it's built into the door
Wow. We don't have those. But I kind of wish we did. I bet that would help when parking the vehicle in the sun. Sorry to hear about it breaking.
That explains why I can't find anything on google. It's great for kids in the 2nd row to get the sun off their faces but I sometimes block that window out completely on long drives with the sun blazing in.
There are a lot of laws against blocking out windows in the US. Read all the posts just about troubles that arise out of just tinting windows. Which probably explains why that extra or accessory isn't made available in the USA. Too bad, it's looks cool. I don't think I'd drive with it up, but it would be nice if I was parking for long time in the sun, to be able to block out the rear window so completely and easily.
that's pretty sweet! when i used to have a 50 mile highway commute, with the sun coming directly in the drivers door window almost the whole way, my wife made me a terrycloth towel with suction cups. good thing the cops never saw it!
My kids use a suction cup stick-on sunshade to block the side window when kids were in a car seat. Very generic square. Even tints are regulated by states with them popular in the south of the US and not up north. IIRC, mine were 30%
